SUMMER BASKETBALL LEAGUE

The Buzzardball Summer League is a unique opportunity for Boys and Girls Grades 3-9 to continue their love for the game of basketball.

Getting ready for its fifth season, the Buzardball Summer Basketball League was formed in 2021 as a way to allow kids back into the sport of basketball in a relaxed manner. Many participants were just wanting to reintroduce physical activity back into their lives.

The Buzzardball Summer format differs from the Winter League. There are no practices. Just games on Saturday mornings. And back this season ... you are allowed to request to play with friends on the same team for the whole season. OR you can bring in a whole team. It's still OKAY to fly solo. Solo players will be placed on different teams each week depending on what spots need to be filled.

The Buzzardball Summer League is also a great way for soon-to-be 3rd Graders to make the transition to 10-foot hoops with officials making calls. There will be free throws and yes ... you finally can steal the dribble. In the same breath, we also offer a division where our soon-to-be 9th Graders can have a final opportunity to play in an organized league before they embark upon their high school career.

We are also fortunate to have Sport Courts Fitness as our official home. SCF is a state-of-the-art facility where the league is able to run two games simultaneously. Each game features two officials from Hawkins Officiating. We keep score, but don’t track standings. Each player gets the opportunity to play in eight games during the summer.
